Using funds donated during the EOFY campaign and by drawing on some of our reserves, we were able to allocate $23,600 to providing 17 schools in Sanma province with replacement learning resources.

We are pleased to announce that the Melanie Jewson Foundation is now registered as a recognised charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission as a Public Benevolent Institution and has been granted DGR status.

According to VCH’s Head of Medical Department Dr. Sereana Natuman, every item in the MJF’s recent crate delivery has already been used at least once, from the nasal cannulas to the defibrillator.

50 emergency nurses will now have access to these affordable emergency essentials packs, streamlining the care of deteriorating patients and allowing for timely life-saving treatment.

Literacy a Door to a Better Future

Literacy a Door to a Better Future

The rigorous national examination at the end of primary school prevents many Ni-Vanuatuan children from accessing further education. Improving literacy skills in the early years of primary school can change that.

COVAX soon to be rolled out

COVAX soon to be rolled out

WHO’s COVAX scheme, designed to aid global equitable access to the coronavirus vaccines, is helping end the acute phase of the pandemic. Vanuatu has plans to vaccinate 20% of its population through COVAX in the coming months as part of the first phase of its rollout.
