We are so impressed with and deeply grateful to the students of St John’s for their participation in this event to help raise money for Vila Central Hospital.

On October 22, St. John’s Lutheran School, Portland held a walkathon to raise money for the people of Vanuatu through the Melanie Jewson Foundation. The students of St John’s excitedly raised an amazing $2,340 for 13 Nursing Packs, which will be used to equip the nurses in the Emergency Department of the Vila Central Hospital (VCH). We are so impressed with and deeply grateful to the students of St John’s for their participation in this event to help raise money for the Vanuatu hospital. A big thank you to the students, the 3/4 class at St John’s for organising the event, to the Principal Mrs Tara Pritchard and to the staff and parents who contributed to make it such a success. The nurses of the VCH, and the future patients into the emergency room will be very thankful that this equipment is readily available to enable the nurses to make effective initial assessments and provide the appropriate treatment quickly and accurately.
