in NEWS: Education

In early December 2014, Gary Jewson, co-chair of the MJF Board, visited a number of partner organisations and contacts in Port Vila Vanuatu to maintain relationships with the different groups and to ensure the support from the Foundation continues to be effective. In direct response to this visit, were are now developing a Memorandum of Understanding with Vanuatu’s Ministry of Education.

Gary was also able to deliver a number of culturally appropriate early reading books to the school.

Mr Haward Mala, the principal of the school, was very pleased to receive the books – a series that he and his teachers had identified as a high priority for their school reading program.

Thanks to MJF board members Jan and Rob Baker for organising the purchase of these books.
