We were proud to support Vanuatu National Hospital (VNH) with the donation of 10 bone marrow needles — essential tools that help doctors diagnose serious blood conditions like leukaemia.

Bone marrow is where our blood cells are made, and testing it is key to proper diagnosis and treatment. VNH hasn’t had reliable access to bone marrow needles for many years, and usually relies on donations such as ours.

Dr. Thyna Orelly, Head of Department — Paediatrics at VNH, took delivery of the needles.

"These needles are great," she said to us, "They allow us to do bone marrow biopsies for some of our sickest children, the ones we think might have cancer, to get answers for their families as quickly as possible."

With a total project cost of AU$850, the bone marrow needles are a small and relatively inexpensive tool making a big impact.
