A positive board meeting with plenty of things discussed.
in NEWS: Foundation

The Melanie Jewson Foundation Board met on Saturday at Rob and Jan’s place in Highton. The Board meeting was positive and a number of issues were discussed. The MJF board were appreciative of the involvement and interest of Richard Marles MP and his article in the Vanuatu Post recently was tabled. The Board has established ‘portfolios’ of responsibility and is in the process of preparing Terms of Reference for these groups which are:

  • Administration and Finance – Andrew, Marian, Libby and Gary
  • Freight/Equiopment and Transport – Jan & Rob
  • Fundraising and Marketing – Marian, Andrew and Andre
  • Education in Schools – Rob, Kay and Gary
  • Hospital, Medical equipment and Training – Libby, Joy and Ashlee
  • Chapel – Tim and Peter

There has been some insect damage to the chapel and a work party will need to be established in the near future to see to repairs and to complete some other works for the hospital.

We are currently negotiating with Flinders University in Adelaide to support the Foundation by providing meidical equipment and the necessary training for VCH staff to utilise the equipment effectively.

Plans are being made for fundraising activities in 2013 and we are hoping to consider a garden day in November and a Cabaret in the middle of the year.

Our next meeting is scheduled for November and will be held in Melbourne at Joy’s place.
